چکیده

We present an analysis of wind-blown, parsec-sized, mid-infrared bubbles and associated star-formation using GLIMPSE/IRAC, MIPSGAL/MIPS and MAGPIS/VLA surveys. Three bubbles from the Churchwell et al. (2006) catalog were selected. The relative distribution of the ionized gas (based on 20 cm emission), PAH emission (based on 8 μm, 5.8 μm and lack of 4.5 μm emission) and hot dust (24 μm emission) are compared. At the center of each bubble there is a region containing ionized gas and hot dust, surrounded by PAHs. We identify the likely source(s) of the stellar wind and ionizing flux producing each bubble based upon SED fitting to numerical hot stellar photosphere models. Candidate YSOs are also identified using SED fitting, including several sites of possible triggered star formation. Subject headings: HII regions — ISM: bubbles — infrared: ISM — radio continuum: ISM — stars: formation

IR Dust Bubbles II: Probing the Detailed Structure and Young Massive Stellar Populations of Galactic HII Regions

We present an analysis of late-O/early-B-powered, parsec-sized bubbles and associated star-formation using 2MASS, GLIMPSE, MIPSGAL and MAGPIS surveys. Three bubbles were selected from the Churchwell et al. (2007) catalog. We confirm that the structure identified in Watson et al. (2008) holds in less energetic bubbles, i.e. a PDR, identified by 8 μm emission due to PAHs surrounds hot dust, ident...

Wolf-Rayet (WR) galaxies provide detailed information on massive star populations in starbursts and thereby represent ideal objects to determine accurate ages for young systems, to measure the burst duration, and to probe the upper end of the IMF. WR galaxies play also a particular role in a variety of studies on star formation in Seyfert2/LINERS, dust production and local chemical enrichment, ...

Stellar Populations in the Central Galaxies of Fossil Groups

It is inferred from the symmetrical and luminous X-ray emission of fossil groups that they are mature, relaxed galaxy systems. Cosmological simulations and observations focusing on their dark halo and inter-galactic medium properties confirm their early formation. Recent photometric observations suggest that, unlike the majority of non-fossil brightest group galaxies (BGGs), the central early-t...

Mid - infrared spectroscopy and NIR photometry of the HII complex N 4 in LMC . ⋆

Context. We present the analysis of ISOCAM-CVF and J,H and Ks photometry data of the HII region complex N4 in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). Aims. The aim is twofold: 1) to study the connection between the interstellar medium and the star content of this region; 2) to investigate the effects of the lower than galactic metallicity on dust properties. Methods. A dust features – gas lines – con...
